What is photomodulation?

Why do we use it?

Is there anyone who can't have high level laser therapy?

How may sessions will I need?

How much does it cost?

Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) is the best technical term for Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).

It is a light therapy using lasers or LEDs to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied. Usually applied by a doctor, therapist or technician, treatments take about 10 minutes, the treatment is non invasive and 100% safe.

In foot care the use of Photobiomodulation is used primarily for the treatment of painful heels, Plantar Fasciitis, Arthritis, Tendentious. Bursitis, Morton's Neuroma and to speed up the recovery and pain reduction of fractures .

Laser therapy can be carried out on most people including children. However, laser therapy cannot be carried out on those who:

Have a pacemaker

Have active cancer

Are under the age of 16 and the area to be treated is over a growth plate (assessment can be given).

Are pregnant

It is hard to say how many sessions an individual may need. You may well notice an improvement after your first session but we recommend a course of 3 to get on top of your issue. We also offer individual treatments, if you'd prefer not to commit to a course. Once your course has been completed, you may add on additional treatments if you wish and your therapist feels it is appropriate for you. There is no limit as to how many treatments you can have. Those with chronic (long term) pain may find they need a few treatments before they start to notice the benefits and may need up to 6 treatments to get on top of their problem.

The cost of treatment is an additional cost of £15.00 per appointment.
